Top three tips:

  • DON'T use the same set up as Ray (you wont catch)
DON'T take advice from Ray (it will work in his favor not yours)
DON'T sit near Ray when fishing, (take your iPod just in case you have no other choice)

 Grin only joking!!

If only Ray would share his hints and tips first I could maybe start catching some fish as well.  I'm usually quit lazy when fishing (meat /bomb/wait) but only becasue I find it very hard to catch when making my own rigs, becasue I cant set them up correctly or I use the wrong kind of gear. Of course I could be a jinx and destined never to catch on a pole or with a float.

So Ray, you need to tell me what you do cos I know you and your Bro have had some very good days fishing.

well what can i say? here's me tinking i'm the under dog!  Roll Eyes we tend to fish on the little jem jakes.put a few pellets in first before you start to fish ,just to wake em all up.
I always start to fish on quiver tip rod ,corn, pellet, and meat. (jamies fav).
then get the pole out start long then come in closer, and don't forget the margins, this is where the carp with asbo's live ! and believe me they wear doc martins! so i make sure i've got the tackle to give em a fight. 20 elastic will do nicely.( bull rope and winch optional )
feed small amounts, usuall little but often tactic.
sit back and enjoy.  Grin Grin

Hello thought i would i would share my pole tactics with you all seen as you don't have a clue (joke).

For my pole rigs i use Durafloat 4x12 preferably attached to black hydro through summer the shot well on 4x12 i often use 3 no.10 stotz as droppers then about 4 no.8 stotz as a bulk, the hook well as far as thats concerned i use 16 middy t9313 at the moment which is a pain to buy them at shops because its a gob full with numbers, so ye thats my pole rig usually fished at 11 metre, depending on my laziness, oh and the line i use 0.14mm Silstar line which is excellent, oh and i nearly forgot what do i put on the hook except a fish ermm... candys own hookers mainly  Grin
