Hi mate thanks for using the forums nice to see new faces taking an interest.

Not sure if I should be giving you tips if the league is that close on points (bit unfar to the others) so I'm hoping you'll let the others know as well Smiley

Basic tactic that have scored some very good bags this weekend have been to fish long over to the island with your pole and fish worm (chopped or not does seem to matter) and obviously fish on the bottom. Now there is a leadge that runs all the way around the island which starts droping off around the 2 foot mark away from the bank, on the ledge its around 18 inch or so and falling away to about 4/5 foot deep in the middle. Most anglers tell me they fish the top edge of the ledge and a few tell me they caught half way down the ledge.

Meat and worm are also good baits for margin fishing at the moment, with corn and paste close behind them.

If the conditions are right and the carp are feeding high in the shallow water then pellet is always a primary bait followed by slow sinking maggot for a good mix of fish.

All this info is given to me by club anglers so nothing is from personal knowlegde as I never have the time to fish it myself. Hopefully one of my regular Hoskers guys will post and let you into some of the secrets behind catch those big albino grass carp and 16lb commons Wink
